Keeping Snack Gifts Fresh!
Salami. Pistachios. Popcorn. Nope, that’s not a grocery list – it’s just a small sample of the snack items, from gourmet to every day, that can be found in some of our more popular gifts. While these gifts will please your residents, it’s important to remember that perishable gifts come with a few challenges. What are the best practices for dealing with gifts whose components have an expiration date?
First, we recommend that you go no further than six weeks between ordering and distributing gifts that include an edible component. That way, you always know your gifts are fresh when they get into your residents’ hands. Be mindful of the time constraints when you order snack-based gifts. Of course, you’ll want to have a stock of “evergreen” gifts always on hand, but if you don’t have definite prospects of distributing them within six weeks, stick to our ample selection of gifts with an unlimited shelf life.
Second, when storing your gifts and getting new shipments in, it is important to remember to rotate your gifts so that the oldest gifts go out to residents and prospects first. That will ensure that they receive the freshest snacks and offerings.
A gift of snacks is always welcome whether for move-in, appreciation, or renewal!
